SisterPlay is an intimate new play inspired by the true story of playwright Elizabeth Ostler's sister, Lisa, who died while in custody at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail.

​

This play explores the complicated terrain of sisterhood, addiction, grief, forgiveness, and the systems that shape the lives and deaths of people in custody.

 

It is a story about loving someone you cannot save.
About the questions that remain after loss.
About what happens when the circumstances of someone’s life collide with a system never designed to see the whole person.
